WE ARE LIGHTNING!
A new theatre/music work created in collaboration with Sam Halmarack (UK)
Created with over 100 community musicians, We Are Lightning! celebrates how music shapes the lives of the people that play it and the way in which it brings people together. It will be created and performed by Sam and JOF in collaboration with teen garage bands and senior musical ensembles to make a large sonic gig for basketball stadiums and town halls.
We will chart the course from teenage dreams of superstardom to the dogged determinism of the bands who play pub gigs in their 60s. We want to find out who are the people who choose to play music today and what keeps them going.
Initial development and world premier supported by Creative Victoria & Arts House (Aus)
UK development supported by Arts Council England & Burton Brewhouse
UK Touring partners MAYK
